We adopted Maggie from a pet store because she was just too large for them to care for, plus the fact everyone that worked there was terrified of her. At over 12 feet, she was a very gentle, calm snake, never offering us any problems even in some awkward and unusual situations. She was the star of our educational programs we did for schools, libraries, ect., and hundreds of people got to see her up-close and pet her if they wanted.
This site is dedicated to Maggie, to educate the public about snakes and their care. We lost her in the winter of 1998 to pneumonia. She was nine years old; with a life expectancy of twenty years or more, the loss was unexpected and sudden. We miss her very much.
If anyone who has attended our shows has any pictures of Maggie, please contact us. We'd like to get copies of the pictures of her. Thanks.
